Tricky D has been a breakbeat ambassador since the early 90′s and is one of Berlin’s first underground Jungle DJs and Activists.
Tricky got involved in Berlin’s cult underground club “In Eimer” and met up with Mez. They became members of the first German live Jungle band Elektronauten, when creativity was faster than bureaucracy.
The following years were filled with touring, djing, studio work and releasing music under different names.
In 2001 he opened the Tricky Tunes Record Store @ Mainzer Str 8, 10247 Berlin specialising in Jungle, D ‘n B, Reggae and cutting-edge Breakbeats.
In 2002, he spent some time in Jamaica, where he and Mez did recording sessions with local vocalists, and decided to start their own record label: Tricky Tunes. sozialistischer plattenbau is gladly announcing the third part of the bomb fi dub series. the first side starts in a dark & and spaced dub with the next from hamburgs dubstep crew wobwob. followed by a very experimental, flowting scatter dub by leipzigsalphacut boss lxc with karlmarxstadt who might be known as the bear part of society suckers. the flipside goes more down to raggae vibes starting up with the full voiced badass ridim by the belgium nicky nuts , known from his junglist label animal breaks, & eka the mad samplist featuring jagan & mc stoneman with french toasting. the record ends with a dubstep version of a jah seal tune maximized by no other then berlin residenttrcky d from tricky tunes.
